Terms of Service

These terms are the beta test and software license agreement between you and Okroh, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Okroh”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Okroh desktop app, your Okroh account and okroh.com. By creating an account, installing the app or using okroh.com, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. The beta notice is part of these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Okroh.

1. Who can use Okroh

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter this agreement. The beta is for individuals using their own accounts. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password safe. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.

2. The beta

• Okroh is pre-release software. It may have bugs, and we may change, limit or remove features, end the beta, or decide not to release Okroh at all.
• Okroh is free during the beta. There’s nothing to buy, so there’s nothing to pay or refund.
• AI usage is paced by a 5-hour limit and a weekly limit. When you reach a limit, chat pauses until it resets. Your local chats and memory aren’t affected.
• We may change the limits during the beta and will tell you before a change takes effect. If we start charging after the beta, we’ll tell you first, and you won’t be charged unless you choose a paid plan.

3. Your license to the app

While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Okroh app on computers you own or control, for your own use. Okroh and its licensors keep all rights in the app, the service and okroh.com; this license is the only right you get to them. You may not:

• copy, sell, rent, sublicense or distribute the app, or let others use your account;
• reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law or an open-source license allows it;
• remove notices from it, or use it to build a competing product;
• get around usage limits or security, for example by extracting the app’s gateway key.

Okroh updates itself automatically, and some updates are needed to keep using the service. Open-source components are covered by their own licenses, which take precedence for those components.

4. Your content

You own what you put into Okroh and what it produces for you. You give us only the permission needed to process your content to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy: for example, sending conversation text (shielded unless you turn the privacy shield off) to AI providers to generate replies, and storing encrypted sync data. We don’t use your content to train models.

If you send us a bug report or a suggestion, we may use the ideas in it to improve Okroh. Sending one doesn’t give you ownership of, credit for, or payment for any change we make. It also doesn’t give us any rights to your chats, files or memory.

5. AI output

Replies are generated by AI models and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check important information, especially medical, legal, financial or safety-related advice, before relying on it. You’re responsible for how you use the output and for any actions you approve the app to take, such as running code or changing files.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law, or infringe others’ rights, with Okroh;
• use Okroh to create malware, abuse or harass people, or produce sexual content involving minors;
• share your account or resell access;
• attack, overload or probe our servers, or try to reach data that isn’t yours;
• break the usage policies of the AI providers your requests are sent to.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

7. Other services

Okroh connects to services run by others: the AI providers that run its models, and any websites or tools you choose to use. The Privacy Policy lists the providers. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we’re not responsible for their content or availability.

8. Using okroh.com

You may browse okroh.com and use its pages, such as the waitlist and password reset, for your own purposes. Don’t scrape it, interfere with it, or use it to send spam or harmful code. The site’s text, logos and design belong to Okroh; “Okroh” and the Okroh logo are our marks. Links to other sites are provided for convenience, and we don’t control or endorse them.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Okroh at any time. To close your account, email [email protected] from your account’s address and we’ll delete it within 30 days, as the Privacy Policy describes. We may end or suspend your access for a serious breach of these terms, or when the beta ends. When the agreement ends, your license ends and you should uninstall the app. Data on your computer stays with you. Sections 3 (our rights in the app), 4, 5 and 10 to 14 continue after the agreement ends.

10. Disclaimers

Okroh is a beta. To the extent the law allows, it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use it at your own risk and are responsible for backing up anything important.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to Okroh is limited to the greater of US$50 and the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll tell you in the app or by email before a significant change takes effect; continuing to use Okroh after that means you accept the change.

13. Law and disputes

If you have a problem with Okroh, email [email protected] first and tell us what happened and what you’d like us to do. We’ll do the same before bringing a claim against you. Both sides will try in good faith to resolve it informally for 30 days before starting a court case. This doesn’t stop either side from going to small-claims court or asking a court for urgent relief.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Delaware, except where the law of the country or state you live in gives you the right to bring them where you live or other rights that can’t be waived.

14. General

These terms, the Privacy Policy and the beta notice are the whole agreement between you and Okroh about Okroh. If a part can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later. You can’t transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to a company that takes over Okroh, and will tell you if we do. The agreement binds anyone it is transferred to. We send notices to your account email or in the app; send yours to [email protected].
